The San Joaquin Tributaries Authority (SJTA), of which Turlock Irrigation District (TID) is a member, filed a lawsuit today challenging the <\/span>Phase 1 of the State Water Board\u2019s Bay-Delta Plan<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

The lawsuit, filed in Tuolumne County Superior Court, contends the State Water Board adopted a wholly different plan than it analyzed, violated state and federal due process laws and unlawfully segmented the environmental review of the plan, among other claims. \u201cWe are incredibly disappointed in the State Water Board\u2019s December 12 action to adopt Phase 1,\u201d said Casey Hashimoto, TID General Manager. \u201cTID and our partners on the Tuolumne put forth a workable solution which could have been implemented immediately and would have produced a greater outcome for native fish when compared to the state\u2019s plan.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe state\u2019s plan will result in minimal benefits to fish while severely impacting our communities. That\u2019s not something we can allow,\u201d TID Board President Charles Fernandes said. <\/span><\/p>\n
